Greetings everyone, I hope you’re doing well,

I have been juggling some things in the webcomic projects and I meant to do some changes in the betterment of their developments.

HEART OF WILDFIRE

I’ve had met some difficulties in the development of the pages when it came to Heart Of Wildfire story project. I thought things were heading toward a good direction, but a further analysis on my part made me realize that it wasn’t the case. Which is why it made me take an important decision: to continue the story with a different artist in the hope of bringing this story to the goal I aspire to reach.

SairamGTZ has a phenomenal artwork style and I’ve been curiously asking myself what would be the results of seeing his style into a story such as Heart Of Wildfire. After some test pages, my answer was clear: my expectations were blown out of the park.

And so, we decided to combine our talents to make this happen. I am hopeful that this partnership will be fruitful and optimistic.

WINGS & HORNS

While working on Heart Of Wildfire with SairamGTZ, I was left with looking for another artist for my comedic, fantasy slice-and-life story titled Wings & Horns.

A little known fact: both Wings & Horns and 4 Of A Kind used to be one and the same. 4OAK was supposed to be a slice-of-life story in the beginning. But a previous project called Earth Angel possessed too many similar elements to it. Upon noticing this, I merged the elements from the Earth Angel project into 4 Of A Kind, transforming this one into a more shonen-type story, and leaving Wings & Horns to go on its own with his slice-of-life story development.

My friend Danzero, already working on the 4OAK project, was interested and enthusiastic about this slice-of-life comedic story. And so, we decided to give this a go and work on this story as well. Of course, with the promise of never overloading his work plate, haha😁. For now, we are working on redesigning the main characters. As soon as some sketches are available, we’ll post them here.

Greetings everyone, how are you doing?

It has been a while since I have updated anything from my webcomic projects. Since the month of March 2023, I have been focusing more on streaming, building an audience on Twitch and my own computer, etc. While this new venture was amazing to explore, it was consuming in time and finances. And worse, this streaming business has nearly halted any production regarding my webcomic projects due to the lack of financial resources that I had put into developing my streaming avenue. On that note, I’d like to apologize for neglecting my webcomic projects.

But fear not, I am now more than dedicated to return to the production of more pages. And hopefully I can gather more funds for the continuation of those stories starting later in the month of June.

I have been thinking of perhaps trying to use Kickstarter to fully finance chapter 01 of Heart Of Wildfire. I did try GoFundMe; quite frankly, other than some of my friends, there was no support despite my effort to promote the page. I do feel this platform is more leaning toward charity causes than art projects. I’m still weighing the good and the bad before making the jump. I’ll keep you updated on this matter. In the meantime, you can always support me on Patreon or on Ko-Fi. The links are available at https://linktr.ee/gregmikaels. And do know that I’m much more active on other platforms, so feel free to reach out to me on them.

Whether you have donated, shared my projects, or sent me encouragements, or all of these three, thank you so much for the continued support.

Greetings everyone,

As youalready know, I possess a Ko-Fi page to show you previews of the projects that I’m working on with some of the most talented artists that I know. I also have a Patreon page, but this one unfortunately has zero patrons since its creation. One person once offered a pledge of 50$ only have it cancelled in the next 10 minutes😅😔. I must put the blame on me for such results as I became in more preference for the Ko-Fi system of offering the options of doing one-time donations. And yet, that aspect later came to bite me harshly.

I decided to have some changes in the reward system when it comes to the donations. I’d like to make my Patreon page livelier and more striving, and also I’d like to take advantage of its monthly donation system which can guarantee me to have some financial help to for my projects, unless the patron(s) decide to not support anymore.

Do note that I really enjoy using Ko-Fi and that I have no intention of stopping utilizing it. Nevetheless, some rewards that it used to have will be put into highlight on Patreon. My mistake was to give access to all elements for a one-time donation, which ended up hurting my finances on the long run. Patreon gives me the opportunities to have a steady monthly income for the sake of my projects, and I’ll try to focus to develop that.

Therefore, only the finished commissioned products will be on Ko-Fi page. On the other hand, to promote and have more traffic, sketches, previews, along with the completed commissioned work, etc, will be available on the Patreon page. I intend to work more onto the promotion of this page as well as I think I might have favored Ko-Fi a bit too much, due to its one-time donation option.

Thank you for your continuous support. I really hope to be able to present to you all a completed chapter for this year. Many thanks to all!

Greetings everyone!

Among the three webcomic projects that I’m writing, one of them is call EARTH ANGEL. The synopsis tells the tale of a young college girl, Zara, meeting Gregoriel, an angel that accidentally falls from Heaven. Discovering that she has spiritual powers, Greg takes her under her wing (no pun intended), and together they fight against the presence of evil spirits and demons in the city of Montreal (my hometown).

When I first created the project ACE & GREG: GEEK TALES OF FANTASY, it was supposed to be a fantasy and comedic slice-of-life series featuring our two avatars of ourselves. In a certain way, considering the story revolves around the meeting of an angelic being and a mortal, ACE & GREG and EARTH ANGEL are very similar, like two sides of a coin. The difference is that one of them has story and character development, while the other, as mentioned before, is focused on one-shots pages of comedy and fantasy. At least, that’s what it was supposed to be.

At first I didn’t mind those small similarities. But as I was developing ACE & GREG, many changes happened to the project, including the story’s title. Many ideas flooded my mind to a point that this idea of a project became so much more than what it was supposed to be. The fantasy aspect alone has made this story, now titled 4 OF A KIND, to possess a great potential on the storytelling level. As it became bigger in its conception, I became more and more annoyed and uneasy about its growing resemblance with EARTH ANGEL.

Recently, and perhaps for an even longer time than I’d like to admit, I have been thinking on a way to merge these two projects. Now, I think I have a good plan to do so.

Therefore, the 4 OF A KIND project is still carry on, but it will integrate and repurpose all characters and other story materials from the EARTH ANGEL project.

The bad thing about this story merger is that I might have to re-commission the first page as it could become scrap depending on how I will go with chapter 01. But on the bright side, I manage to lower my Ko-Fi goal significantly.

Although it sounds like a goodbye, it is a new beginning and a great opportunity to unify elements of two good projects to make a better one.

Thank you all for your support!

For the longest time, I have been worried about my project Heart Of Wildfire. Among the four projects that I’m writing, Heart Of Wildfire was the very first serious one that I had started. To be precise, I started writing it ever since my high school days, which was now 21 years ago.

Back then, social media and digital indie platforms were not as huge and available as today. Being published through a major company was still the main way have some huge coverage in the artistic domain. Luckily over time, things have changed and now artists can self-published their work online and make a living out of them with enough dedication, determination and consistency. And upon that fact, I decided to follow through and walk the indie path.

As some of you know, I’ve been going back and forth with writing, reviewing and rewriting the first chapter of this project over and over again, and with the help of good friends (thank you guys!) and I never gave up upon trying to find the right artist for that project. Despite taking a long time to do that, I want to announce that I found one. Or actually, I had already found one, but I was hesitant to finally make my mind up.

My friend @dziqker (instagram) and I are currently working on a story called Earth Angel, another one that also have been around for a long time among my dream projects (born about 12 years or so). And recently, after many back-and-forths and uncertainties plaguing my mind, I finally said, “Oh what the heck!” With a good conversation, we decided to also unite our efforts to make Heart Of Wildfire a reality. We already have a good chemistry despite the distance separating us and we’re always open to listening to each other’s new ideas.

I guess my hesitation was nourished by the fact that I didn’t want to put too much stress on someone with two manga projects. And yet, he was always positive and enthusiastic by showing and offering that he was capable to do so. Therefore, here we are; combining our talents to make such stories come to life.

I’m honored to walk that path with you my friend and I can’t wait to see what tomorrow has in store for us! Cheers for making dreams come true!

😄👍
